π Settlements Handbook
π― Goal
First to 10 victory points wins. Settlements are worth 1, cities 2, and the
Longest Trail (5+ segments) and Largest Warband (3+ Raiders) are each worth 2.
Hidden Victory Point cards add 1 apiece.
ποΈ Setup
In snake order everyone places two settlements and two roads. Your SECOND settlement
pays out starting resources from the hexes it touches.
π² A turn
Roll two dice: every hex with that number feeds the settlements (Γ1) and cities (Γ2) on
its corners, unless the robber sits there. Then build, trade, and end your turn.
π οΈ Building
π£οΈ Road: π² + 𧱠(must connect to your network)
π Settlement: π²π§±ππΎ (on an empty corner with your road, two spaces from any other)
ποΈ City: β°οΈβ°οΈβ°οΈπΎπΎ (upgrade a settlement; doubles its harvest)
π₯· The robber
Roll a 7 and everyone holding more than 7 cards discards half. Then you move the robber
to a hex; it stops that hex's harvest and steals a card from a player on it.
π¦ Trading
Trade with the bank at 4:1 (four of one resource for one of any). Sit a settlement on
a coastal harbour and the rate improves: 3:1 at a generic β port, or 2:1 for that
port's resource. You can also deal with rivals, offer cards for cards and let them accept,
decline, or counter.
π Development cards
Buy one for β°οΈ + π + πΎ; you may play one per turn (and never the turn you bought it).
βοΈ Raider: move the robber and steal. 3 played win the Largest Warband (+2).
β Victory Point: a hidden +1, revealed only when you win.
π£οΈ Trailblaze: place two roads for free.
πΎ Bounty: take any two resource cards from the bank.
π° Levy: name a resource; every rival hands you all they hold.
